Prof. D. K. Agrawal
Professor & Dean

Dr. Agrawal is a Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management. He has been a university topper of MBA specialized in Marketing, and a Ph.D. in the area of cross discipline integration of Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Strategy and Information Technology from ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior. After working in Indian Automobile Industry for 5 years during 1986-91, he has been in academics for last 25 plus years at PG level Management education. He has conferred 18 th Dewang Mehta Business School Award for Best Teacher in Logistics for the year 2010.

He joined IIM Shillong in June 2008 as a founding faculty member. Since inception and throughout formative stage of the IIM Shillong, Prof. Agrawal has been a catalyst in almost every affairs of IIM Shillong including Academics, Administration as well as Strategic Focus of the Institute. He has held many positions at IIM Shillong like, Founding Chairman-PGP, Dean (Academics), Member-Board of Governors, Member-Finance Committee, Officiating Director, Chairman-Purchase Committee, Chairman-IT Infrastructure Committee, etc that gave him wide exposure and experience of administration and held responsible for many key Institution Building Activities and Decisions. He articulated the structure of the flagship Post Graduate Program in Management at IIM Shillong.

Prof. Agrawal has taught courses like Marketing Management, Distribution & Logistics Management, Sales Management, Value-based Strategic Marketing and Supply Chain Management with consistent feedback of over 4.00 on the scale of 1 to 5 with highest score of 4.8. He designed, developed and delivered innovative courses which are largely cross functional in nature within the facets of Marketing, Strategy and Supply Chain Management very effectively. It has led to induction of new courses viz. Distribution & Logistics Management, and Value-based Strategic Marketing.

He conducted many in-house and open Management Development Programs for leading automobile, durable and FMCG industries in the areas of Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain Management. He has also designed unique and innovative Faculty Development Program on “Demand Chain Management.” 1 st FDP was successfully organized at ABV-IIITM Gwalior during March 27-31, 2012 under the Nationally Coordinated Project (NCP) of AlCTE.
