Legal Aid Committee

The Legal Aid and Legal Literacy Committee at School of Law, Mody University of Science and Technology is committed to promoting access to justice while fostering legal awareness within both the academic community and society at large. The committee serves as a dynamic platform for students to actively engage in meaningful legal work, enhancing their practical exposure and sense of social responsibility. The committee regularly organizes outreach programs in rural areas surrounding the university, with the objective of spreading legal literacy and providing legal aid. Through interactive initiatives such as nukkadnatak (street plays), skit performances, and awareness speeches, students actively educate people about their legal rights, available remedies, and various government policies designed for their welfare.

To ensure effective assistance, advocates accompany the team during outreach activities, offering on-the-spot guidance and support to individuals in need. Additionally, the committee manages the Legal Aid Clinic on campus, which caters to both students and the general public. Assistant Legal and Defense Counsel from DALSA Sikar make periodic visits to the clinic, in compliance with the Hon’ble High Court’s directives, to provide professional legal assistance and consultation.

1.Legal Aid & Literacy Camp – Piprali Village, Sikar (20 September 2025)

The School of Law actively participated in a Legal Aid and Legal Literacy Camp held at Piprali Village, Sikar, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). Conducted under the Eco-Feminism initiative, the camp focused on promoting gender equality, women’s empowerment, and environmental sustainability.

Students presented an impactful skit addressing issues such as female foeticide, POCSO awareness, and girl child education. A tree plantation drive was also undertaken to promote environmental consciousness. Additionally, a legal aid session provided villagers with guidance on their legal rights and remedies under expert supervision.

The initiative provided valuable field exposure to students while reinforcing the university’s commitment to social justice and sustainable development.

2.Legal Aid & Literacy Camp – Lalasi Gram Panchayat, Lakshmangarh (12 April 2025)

The School of Law organized a Legal Aid and Legal Literacy Camp at Lalasi Gram Panchayat, Sikar, with the objective of spreading legal awareness and ensuring access to justice at the grassroots level.Students conducted interactive sessions on key topics including consumer protection, cyber-crimes, domestic violence, child marriage prohibition, right to education, gender equality, and senior citizen welfare laws. The camp also featured skits and nukkadnatak performances, distribution of legal awareness materials, and an on-site legal aid desk offering free consultations.

More than 100 villagers benefitted from the camp, making it a significant step toward community engagement and practical legal education.

3.Legal Aid & Literacy Camp – Dantujala, Lachhmangarh (25 September 2024)

The School of Law organized a Legal Aid and Legal Literacy Camp at Government Senior Secondary School, Dantujala, Lachhmangarh, to promote legal awareness and empower the local community.

Students conducted informative sessions on cyber security, consumer protection, right to education, dowry prohibition, and personal safety. A skit performance was also presented to simplify legal concepts and engage the audience. Additionally, a legal aid counselling desk provided free legal guidance to community members.

The camp witnessed active participation from students, faculty, school children, and local residents, contributing to its success in promoting legal literacy.

4.Legal Aid & Literacy Camp – Bhojasar, Lakshmangarh (26 February 2024)

The School of Law organized a Legal Aid and Legal Literacy Camp at Government Senior Secondary School, Bhojasar, Lakshmangarh, with the aim of raising awareness about legal rights and available legal aid.

Students performed a nukkadnatak highlighting social issues such as child marriage, dowry prohibition, consumer rights, and the right to education. Interactive discussions and a quiz competition were also conducted to engage school students effectively.

The camp witnessed participation from approximately 200 students and successfully created awareness through interactive and activity-based learning, reinforcing the importance of legal education at the grassroots level.

Empowering Our Community: Legal Aid and Literacy Camp

On September 25, 2024, the School of Law at Mody University of Science and Technology, Lakshmangarh held a dynamic Legal Aid and Literacy Camp at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Dantujala Block. Coordinated by the faculty members, Ms. Meha Khiria and Dr. Rohit Soni. This initiative focused on enhancing legal awareness among the local population.

Our students delivered engaging sessions and skits on essential topics such as Cyber Security, Consumer Protection, Good Touch vs. Bad Touch, Right to Education and Dowry Prohibition. We also provided Legal Aid to address villagers’ legal issues. At Mody University, we’re committed to making a difference in society while equipping our students with real-world skills.
