Overview

Dr. Arvind Maharshi is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at the School of Engineering and Technology, Mody University of Science and Technology, with over 25 years of teaching experience. He specialises in numerical methods, heat and momentum transfer, and mathematical modelling. He has also held roles in academic administration, including Head of the Mathematics Department, and was instrumental in introducing M.Sc. and B.Sc. (Hons.) courses at the university.

He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics and has published over 24 research papers in international journals, covering topics ranging from convection flow to fuzzy models. He has guided one Ph.D. and multiple postgraduate theses, and actively participates in national and international conferences and faculty development programmes. He has published one book and holds two patents. Dr. Maharshi is a life member of the Rajasthan Ganita Parishad and AISTE, and serves as an examiner at Jai Narain Vyas University.

Education

  • Ph.D. Mathematics - Jai Narain Vyas University (JNVU), Jodhpur, Rajasthan
  • M.Sc. Mathematics - Jai Narain Vyas University (JNVU), Jodhpur, Rajasthan
  • B.Sc.

Research

Dr. Maharshi's research interests lie at the intersection of fluid mechanics and computational science, with a focus on laminar flow behaviour, boundary layer theory, and free convection phenomena. He investigates fluid motion in low Reynolds number regimes where viscous forces dominate, and explores stability, structure, and transition mechanisms that influence laminar flow systems. His work on natural convection examines buoyancy-driven flows relevant to environmental processes, energy systems, and electronic cooling — analysing heat and mass transfer mechanisms, thermal stability, and energy transport. He is also engaged in computational optimisation techniques to enhance numerical performance and model accuracy, integrating optimisation algorithms with computational fluid models.
