Prof. (Dr.) Khemraj Deshmukh has made significant contributions to biomedical engineering through research, innovation, and academic leadership. He has published multiple SCI and Scopus-indexed research papers in reputed international journals and authored several book chapters in biomedical and tissue engineering. He has developed a compact cryogenic chamber using Peltier technology and contributed to the design of a 3D bioprinter with a rotating bioreactor for vascular tissue engineering. He has secured a funded research project from DHR and holds multiple utility and design patents in biomedical devices and automation systems.

Research
Dr. Deshmukh is a researcher in Biomedical Engineering with core expertise in microfluidics, biomaterials, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). His research focuses on understanding fluid flow behaviour in biological and micro-scale systems using advanced numerical modelling and simulation techniques. A major part of his work involves the design and analysis of microfluidic devices for biomedical applications, particularly studying shear stress effects, compliant microchannels, and non-Newtonian blood flow characteristics.
He also works on porous biomaterial scaffolds and tissue engineering materials, investigating their thermal behaviour, degradation, and structural performance under different environmental conditions. His research integrates computational modelling with experimental approaches to improve the design of biomedical implants, microfluidic diagnostic platforms, and scaffold-based systems. Through his work, Dr. Deshmukh aims to develop innovative, cost-effective biomedical technologies that enhance diagnostic capabilities and support healthcare solutions, particularly for resource-limited and rural healthcare environments.
