Dr. Mohit Sharma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Mody University of Science and Technology, with 14 years of teaching and 12 years of research experience, including a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Ariel University, Israel. He leads critical administrative functions as the University-level NAAC Criteria-3 Coordinator and the Research and Development Coordinator for SLAS, and manages scientific compliance through SIRO renewals and DST survey coordination.

He has secured significant research funding as Principal Investigator for DST SERB-SURE projects. He serves as a reviewer for prestigious journals including Nature Scientific Reports and IEEE, and is a member of the IEEE Photonics Society and Optica.

Dr. Sharma's primary research focus is on Nonlinear Optics and Photonic Crystal Fibres (PCFs), where he designs and optimises novel fibres for enhanced nonlinear processes such as supercontinuum and soliton generation. He has significant expertise in Quantum Optics, with extensive publications on innovative quantum computing applications. His portfolio also includes developing Quantum-Safe Cryptographic Frameworks through integrated post-quantum and key distribution protocols, and biosensing using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) sensors for the detection of malaria, syphilis, and cancer. He is currently Principal Investigator for a SERB-SURE project investigating nonlinear phenomena in non-silica microstructure fibres.
