Dr. Ramratan Guru is an accomplished Associate Professor, Head of Department, and Ph.D. Coordinator at the School of Design, Mody University of Science and Technology. With over 12 years of extensive teaching, research, and industry experience, he has established himself as a distinguished academic in the field of textile technology and apparel engineering.

He completed his postdoctoral research at the School of Engineering, Department of Textile Engineering, University of Minho, Portugal, and holds a Ph.D., M.Tech., and B.Tech. from the Department of Textile Technology, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jalandhar.

His areas of expertise include quality control in garments, research methodology for clothing comfort, advanced garment manufacturing, apparel technology, pre-treatment, finishing, printing and dyeing, fibre science, spinning and weaving technologies, fibre-yarn-fabric testing, and apparel merchandising and market research.

Dr. Guru has led and collaborated on research projects with prestigious institutions including the University of Minho (Portugal) and the University of Saskatchewan (Canada), and has engaged with leading universities across Canada, the USA, Europe, Brazil, Asia, and Africa. His dedication to academic excellence, innovative research, and international collaboration underlines his significant contributions to the advancement of textile and apparel sciences.

Dr. Ramratan Guru's research portfolio is dynamic and multidisciplinary, with a focus on new materialism, smart fabric technology integrating UX design into wearable textiles, sustainability in fashion and textiles, circular fashion, waste management, technical textiles, green composite materials, ethical fashion, material science, and industrial engineering.

He is actively engaged in collaborative research, with ongoing certificate collaborations at the University of Minho (Portugal) and the University of Saskatchewan (Canada). He has developed more than eight innovative cellulosic fibres, achievements that have garnered recognition across Canada, the USA, Europe, the UK, and Brazil. His extensive body of work, published in premier journals and books, has made substantial contributions to the advancement of textile science and sustainable materials globally.
