Dr. Vinod Kumar received his M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar, and completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. He has supervised 13 M.Tech. students and is currently supervising two Ph.D. scholars.

He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the School of Engineering and Technology, Mody University of Science and Technology, Lakshmangarh. In addition to teaching subjects such as Compiler Design, Operating Systems, Cryptography, and DBMS, he serves as Convener of the Institution’s Innovation Council and SPOC for Infosys and Intel technologies.

Dr. Kumar's research interests focus on emerging technologies including the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, network optimisation, and security challenges in Narrowband-IoT. His broader areas of expertise include network security, cryptography, and computer networks.

He serves as the editor of three conference proceedings and is the author or co-author of three books. He is a reviewer for several prestigious SCI-indexed journals including IEEE Internet of Things Journal, Elsevier Future Generation Computer Systems, Wiley Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies, and IEEE Access. He was awarded Teaching Assistantships by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. He has presented research at leading international conferences including COMSNETS at IISc Bangalore and APAN-54 in China, and has published research articles in reputed journals by IEEE, Springer, and Wiley.
