Research
Ms. Sharma's research interests lie at the intersection of User Experience Design, Cognitive Design, Ergonomics, Strategic Design Management, Fashion Design, Fashion Management and Communication, and Design Education. Her work focuses on understanding how design can influence human behaviour, decision-making, and social systems, and how research-driven design methodologies can be applied to create meaningful, inclusive, and socially responsible experiences across digital and institutional ecosystems.
A key area of her research is Ethnographic and Contextual Research in Design, exploring how cultural, social, and environmental contexts influence user behaviour, design adoption, and adaptation. Through ethnographic studies, observational research, and participatory design approaches, she seeks to better understand user needs within real-world environments such as educational institutions, public systems, and community spaces.
Her research also engages with Strategic Design Management, Systems Thinking, and Sustainable Design, examining how design can be integrated at feasible levels with strategy to create long-term value — studying how design-led thinking can improve decision-making, innovation processes, and service delivery across the three pillars of social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
