With a career spanning over two decades of academic excellence, Prof. (Dr.) Abhay Sharma, Pro-President, is a distinguished academician and researcher whose leadership has left a significant mark on premier national and international institutions. Having served in key roles at IIT Jammu, IIT Hyderabad, and KU Leuven, Belgium, he brings a rare blend of international academic rigor and industrial insight. 

A seasoned institution builder, Prof. Sharma has been instrumental in developing academic programs and research ecosystems from the ground up. He has played important leadership roles in shaping academic governance and strategic policy development, serving as Dean, the founding National Coordinator of the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF), and in several other positions of responsibility. 

Beyond his administrative leadership, Prof. Sharma is a recognized authority in Additive Manufacturing and Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing. He has authored over 135 high-impact research publications and has successfully led multi-crore research and infrastructure projects, bridging the gap between fundamental research and industrial application. 

A strong advocate of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Prof. Sharma is deeply committed to fostering an ecosystem of interdisciplinary innovation and global collaboration. Through student-centric initiatives, research-driven academic programs, and modern infrastructure development, he continues to contribute to preparing the next generation of leaders for an evolving global landscape.
