Prof. Jain is a distinguished designer, academician, researcher, and lead design education professional with over thirty-five year of experience. He has also received advanced training at Polimoda, Florence, Italy, and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York, USA, and holds a Ph.D. in Design Studies. Prof. Jain was among the senior faculty members of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).Over the years, he has made significant contributions to Textile Design, Fashion Communication, Foundation Programme and Master of Design education, besides developing innovative pedagogies and multidisciplinary approaches to design education. He has played a pioneering role in curriculum development and institution building at NIFT, contributing to the establishment and development of programmes including Textile Design, Fashion Communication, the Foundation Programme and Master of Design. He also initiated several institutional initiatives such as Student Development & Activity Council, International Affairs, Industry Linkages & Alumni Affairs, and the Outbound Workshop programme. His professional engagements have extended to national and international academic institutions, government organisations, industry and craft communities.
With a career integrating design practice, teaching, research, institution building, craft development and academic leadership, has done several prestigious projects for Govt. of India.

Prof. Jain continues to contribute to the advancement of design education and the preservation and contemporary interpretation of India’s rich cultural and craft traditions. Prof. Jain has been associated with leading institutions in India and abroad as a visiting faculty, academic advisor, examiner, research mentor and committee member and has visited numerous international design and fashion institutions across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia for academic collaborations and knowledge exchange, such as; School of Design – University of Leeds; Chelsea College of Arts – University of the Arts London and School of Fashion & Textiles at RMIT Melbourne, Australia.
