Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Sharma is a distinguished academic and management scholar who served as a Senior Professor at the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi, in the area of Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain Management. Over a career spanning 36 years at FMS, including 15 years as a full Professor, he has made outstanding contributions to teaching, research, and consulting in management education.

He holds an M.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, and a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi. In 2010, he completed the International Teachers Programme (ITP) at the Kellogg School of Management, USA. He has served as Vice-President of the POMS (Production and Operations Management Society) India Chapter, USA.

Prof. Sharma has presented papers and chaired technical sessions at around 50 national and international conferences, including those held at the University of San Diego, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Shillong. His contributions to the field have been recognised with the Prof. Y.K. Bhushan Most Influential Professor Award (Mumbai), the Best Application Paper Award at ICOQM, Nirma, Ahmedabad, and the Best Professor in Operations Management Award from the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM) Society, USA.

Prof. Sharma was awarded the UGC National Research Award to conduct research on Supply Chain Management Practices in India. He has also been involved as a team member in a major research project with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, on the development of e-Governance cases.

He has guided 14 candidates for their Ph.D. degrees and has supervised approximately 200 research-based dissertations at the MBA level at the University of Delhi, in the areas of Operations, Total Quality Management, and Supply Chain Management.
