It’s better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it.
MUST Debate club organized its first inter school debate competition on 30th April, 2022 at 2:30 PM. Students from all schools participated in the competition. Esteemed judges of the competition were Dr. A.S. Rao, HOD of SLAS and Dr. Tathaghat Ghosh, Associate professor of Geography. There were in total 17 participants, 9 spoke for the motion and 8 against the motion.
Aishwarya from first year, pursuing BA LLB (Hons.), School of Law won the best performer from the category of for the motion. Furthermore, Anushka Awasthi from second year pursuing BBA, School of Business achieved the position of best performer from the category of against the motion. Moreover, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences received the trophy for overall performance.
The first edition of MUST Debate Club was a success and enormous participation was seen. Since, the examinations are round the corner, we expect to get lot more participation in our second event.
