About School of Liberal Arts & Sciences

TheSchool of Liberal Arts and Sciences (SLAS) is a premier institution dedicated exclusively to women, providing an ideal platform for higher education through a range of Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral programmes in the liberal arts, sciences and applied sciences conforming to NEP 2020 guidelines.

At SLAS, we are committed not only to the academic excellence of our students but also to their holistic development. Our curriculum encourages students to embrace innovative concepts and ideas, preparing them to tackle emerging challenges in both their professional and personal lives.

Our students undergo a rigorous and continuous learning process, featuring regular assessments, examinations, presentations, assignments, and group discussions. This comprehensive approach not only strengthens academic foundations but also nurtures the overall personality of each student. Alongside traditional classroom teaching delivered by our distinguished faculty, we integrate modern pedagogical tools such as Smart Classrooms and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

We believe in holistic development and, therefore, actively encourage participation in cocurricular, extracurricular, and sports activities held throughout the year. These opportunities empower our students to excel beyond academics, fostering well-rounded growth.

Our students benefit from access to state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with the latest instruments, supporting advanced experiments and research, including CURIE (Consolidation of University Research for Innovation and Excellence in Women Universities) grant under the Knowledge Involvement in Research Advancement through Nurturing (KIRAN) scheme. It also has SIRO (Scientific and Industrial Research Organization) recognition by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research.

A key feature of our NEP-based curriculum is the mandatory Summer Internship, complemented by regular field trips and industrial visits each semester, ensuring practical exposure and real-world learning. The students are also offered a range of elective courses to choose from to create a programme suitable for each student’s interest and career choices.

To equip students with a global perspective, we require the study of one foreign language—options include French, German, Japanese, and Spanish—enhancing their soft skills and international outlook. Additionally, our dedicated School of Etiquette and Finishing Skills provides specialised training in etiquette and finishing, further preparing students for success in a global environment.
